TRAINING ON CHILD RIGHTS SITUATION ANALYSIS

For the last five days, staff of CLADHO and those from member organizations have been participating in Child Rights Situation Analysis (CRSA) and Meaningful Participation Addressing Barriers to Child Rights training funded by Kinder Not Hilfe(KNH).

The training aim to enable participants understand what a CRSA process is and how it links to child rights-based programming, also to equip them with knowledge, skills and confidence to successful plan and implement a project-level CRSA.

 Executive Secretary of CLADHO  SAFARI Emmanuel

informed the participants that human rights are inalienable, indivisible and universal. He emphasized that every person, everywhere has the same right due to our common humanity. “These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible”

 During the training, Evariste MURWANASHYAKA

 Head of Programs led participants through the types of rights which are Development, survival, participation and protection as enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). He emphasized that with CRSA process, trainees will be able to explore factors that shape the child rights environment. Participants understood child rights friendly tools that can be used while identifying rights that children do not enjoy.

During the closure, Evariste MURWANASHYAKA applauded participants for sparing their weekend time to take on the training, and encouraged them to be present in future especially during field work and participatory analysis of the information to be gathered.
